I’m doing a lot of work with this blog. Yesterday, I imported about 1000 posts from my old blogger account. (You can see them if you click on the archives dropdown). Now I’m in the process of tagging them and editing same.
Then I’m going to import and clean up the old pre-blog journals and import them as well. In other words - I’m treating some of this as if it is semi-valuable.
Barret sent me this link to Joel Meyerowitz video clip explaining street shooting in New York.

I did raise the prices on the site. The prints on 16 x 20 mat went from $145 to $175. According to my theory this should kill all sales. But let’s see.
There are still auctions on eBay where the bargain can be had.
Promenade is already in the mid-40 numbers - and when it hits 50 I’m going to raise it again. That print has been my meal ticket. Even Night Storm is in the low thirties I think… That’s one I’ll never recreate again - what with global warming and lack of view camera.

I have about 150 different prints separated into six boxes for the portfolio(s). I’m just waiting for one more thing from PZ and then I’ll start assembling them. And then I’ll be able to post an advert saying:
PORTFOLIO VIEWING BY APPT ONLY!
MAKE RESERVATIONS IN ADVANCE IF YOU WANT TO GET BEYOND THE PURPLE ROPE. And I’ll charge admission and… yeah right… sorry - got carried away. This isn’t quite Phantom of the Opera.

Will be downtown today for lunch with dad and aunt. Although there are a lot of sad things to talk to them about - I just see it all as a chance to do some shooting. (It’s not easy getting old). I can tell you that the easiest portfolio to put together will be the one on cemeteries / funerals. I knew at once which print would go first and which would go last. And I could see a narrative thread in my minds eye.

By Saturday, all this marketing crap should be out of the way and I’ll hit the St. Pats day parade.
